When I first went ‘crazy,’ I was living in a cement-block apartment on the campus of Auburn University.
There was a kitchen. The only thing I ‘knew’ how to make were scrambled eggs. I made them, perhaps, three times in my nearly two years there…
I can no longer make scrambled eggs.
I can eat them, but I can’t make them.
Since those dark days at Auburn, I have catered weddings and Christmas parties, showered gourmet gifts on kith and kin.
But I can’t make scrambled eggs.
I tried again yesterday and failed.
I don’t understand me much.
Somedays, I don’t think I want to.
Until tomorrow…
