Heartening?

Yeah, I know. That doesn’t sound like me at all.

But my writing sample for my grad application has been narrowed down to two works. A short story that saw publication in a national literary magazine and an excerpt from the last novel I sold.

The fact that I actually found something I’m happy with is, well, flabbergasting.

I look good in “flabbergast.”

Just saying.
